So I’m just curious where did it come from, and what is it? Last week I was leading a study in the book of James (Chapter 1) and we got onto rather good discussion about this. I’m just kinda what your thoughts are. I’m not here to start a argument, or whatever. I’m just curious what you, the reader, thinks about this. Let me know. Also another question I have is, is Sin and Evil the same thing?

Evil is a product of the sin nature. But the sin nature and evil aren't the same, though evil finds its root or source in the sin nature. So, no sin and evil aren't the same thing. Evil is a manifestation of what is already there, a nature bent on or conditioned to sin. Also, I know I could kind of get into trouble for saying this, but I feel evil is really nothing but a perception. For example, a sinner (I include myself in this role) can look upon the acts of another sinner, like the acts of Hitler or a child molester, and see that it is an evil act. So, to me, the reason evil exists is because humanity has a perception or a belief or whatever that something is evil. I know some would say that I'm erasing the standard, but I feel that it doesn't because the standard still ultimately exists. Now, I say all this without really having looked at James to understand where you were all coming from. Oh, and I am not evil. Nor was Hitler. Nor a child molester. To me, their acts were evil and based on the inbred nature within all of us. Which is why grace is amazing to me. Because it doesn't have so much to do with the acts of sin, as it has everything to do with the sinner. That's my input, and it's always subject to change, so let us what you thought.
